On Joseph Woll’s Return

“It’s great to have him back. I’m not going to get into any of the issues with his leave — I’ll leave that to Joe at a certain time. He’ll speak when he’s comfortable, but the plan now is just to get him up and going. He’s been on the ice, skating every other day for a couple of weeks. We’ll take it day by day and integrate him back in.”
“It’s probably not unreasonable to expect that once we get to that stage, he’ll play some conditioning games with the Marlies. We’ll take our lead from Joe on how he’s feeling. It’s great to have him back — the group’s excited and it’s a real positive sign he’s rejoined us.”

On the Challenges of Returning Midseason

“You miss a camp — it’s getting those reps. Joe keeps himself in great shape, so I don’t think it’ll be too long, but it’s a process. There’s a difference between skating alone and practicing with traffic and bodies around you. The next step is game action.”

On Managing the Goaltending Situation

“At some point, sure, getting back to more of a tandem will help Anthony. But like I said, it’s day by day. Joe’s a big part of our team, and it’ll be good to have him back when he’s ready. We’re not going to rush it — it’ll happen when he’s ready to go.”
“As for three goalies, we’ll cross that bridge when we get there. Cayden’s done a good job, Anthony’s been great, and Dennis had a good camp. We like our depth.”

On Supporting Joseph Woll Through His Leave

“He’s got a great support system here with his teammates, and the organization is 100% behind him. That’s what you do for all your players. These guys deal with the same things everyone else does — it just gets magnified. We make sure we have the resources, the personnel, and the player’s best interest in mind. I’m proud of how the organization supported Joe.”

On John Tavares’ Preparation

“Everything that’s been said about him — his preparation, his consistency — it’s all true. It’s like a fine wine; he gets better with age. But it’s not by accident. The work and time he dedicates to his craft show in the results.”

On Team Injuries

“Tanev won’t play tomorrow. He’s not eligible to come off until Saturday, but we’ll see. Scott’s missed more time, but he’s ramping up now and hopefully joins the group soon. Hopefully sooner rather than later.”

Pulse Takeaway

Treliving’s message was steady and optimistic — a measured update on Joseph Woll’s return, a clear emphasis on player well-being, and continued confidence in the Leafs’ depth and leadership.
