On the Raptors’ Slow Start
“For whatever reason, we did not come with the intensity and attention to detail that you need when you play on the road against a very talented team. They scored 41 points in the first quarter. After that, we really fought — we came down to eight points a few times and had our chances. It’s going to come down to discipline. We play hard, but we’ve got to play smarter too.”
On Victor Wembanyama’s Presence
“He has a big impact — first of all, his rim protection. He blocked one shot, but every time you go to the rim, you feel his presence. He changed a lot of shots. As the game went on, we adjusted and found ways to score better at the rim. We just need to open games much better.”
On Collin Murray-Boyles’ Performance
“Very impressive effort. He was guarding multiple players, created deflections and steals, and found a good offensive rhythm. Really happy for him — he had a real impact on the game.”
On RJ Barrett’s Growth
“RJ is doing a great job getting to the rim and scoring there. He’s figuring out how to be effective in transition and off the ball. He’s doing a lot of good stuff offensively, and his defense continues to grow as well.”
On Jakob Poeltl’s Status
“Tough start to the year for him. He wasn’t able to finish the game with lower back tightness. It’s day-to-day — we’ll see how he responds tomorrow.”
Pulse Takeaway
Rajaković praised his team’s resilience after a rough opening quarter but emphasized discipline and smarter starts moving forward. He highlighted Murray-Boyles’ defensive spark, Barrett’s continued development, and Poeltl’s health as key focal points as the Raptors search for consistency early in the season.
